about

If I ever played a different instrument it would be the violin.
Playing Bach’s music on guitar requires creative adaptation: taking into account particularities of the instrument, employing its best qualities, while staying true to the composer’s intention as much as possible.

For this recording our goal was to capture sound that is intimate and close to the instrument so that all nuances and details can be experienced by the listener.

All Sonatas are transcribed in their original keys by my former teacher, Maestro Manuel Barrueco.

I refined my interpretation to a very high level of detail, as reflected in countless markings on my scores. There is no claim to have found a perfect interpretation, but I have tried very hard to get as close as possible to my vision of these beautiful Sonatas.

I am very fortunate to be able to touch on these masterpieces and to be able to share this music with you.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank:
Nahuel Bronzini, Elena Vid, Bowen Zheng, Linda Tran, Steve Strong, Sharon Ericksen and First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove.

I dedicate this recording to my dear friend Jon McCormack and his family.
